1. Common Stabilization Problems
1) Yellowing / Discoloration
Reasons:
Low dosage of stabilizer
Incorrect Ca-Zn rate
Long stay at high temperature
Unsuitable lubricant
Solution:
Optimize Ca-Zn or organic stabilizer dosage
Lower process temperatures
Revise lubricant system
2) Plaque Formation (Plate-out)
Reasons:
Low heat stability
Volatile component it is too much
Lubricant incompatibility
Solution:
Ca-Zn mixtures with higher stability
Modified lubricant systems
Low volatility plasticizers
3) Odor and Gas Outlet
Reasons:
Incompatible plasticizer
Insufficient stabilization
Low purity raw materials
Solution:
More stable systems such as DOTP / TOTM
Stabilizers with low VOC levels
Purer PVC resin
4. Loss of Mechanical Performance
Excessive stabilizer → brittleness
